Well I don’t know about you, but I can always use accessories for my vehicle. There are many things a person can do to make your vehicle your own.
*Tires
It seems like the first thing I change is tires. I drive a truck and it seems like they always have street tires on them. If your like me I use my truck to make money and for adventure, play. I also have to drive on highways so I will find a nice set of cross country tires. Always ask questions about your tires because a tire for dirt can be especially loud on the highway or city streets for that matter. You can find a fairly quiet tread in a good all terrain tire. You don’t see it so much anymore but as a young driver on my first car I had mags on my car. They were wider than regular tires and made my car look extra tough. They were not great for winter driving though. Anyways one of the first things you see are the tires. Express your self with safety and functionality in mind.
*Stereos
Well again when I was younger we had stereos with tape decks in them. First came 8- tracks, then cassettes, and then CD players. With all of these you had to carry along with you your music. 8-tracks, cassettes and CDs were all carried around in carrier cases of some sort. They were bulky and an eye sore not to mention distracting when you had to flip through them all to find your favorites to play. Then you had to modify your stereo system to suit you i.e. speakers, amps, bass speakers all to make it sound how you wanted it. Now most vehicles are equipped with flat screen stereos, most with satellite radio and or Bluetooth connection abilities. They also come with information about your vehicle displayed on your screen and have the ability to make and answer phone calls. They also come with flat screen DVD players which just blows my mind. Most factory stereo systems are good enough for the average person, making your music sound like your right there in the concert. It makes you wonder what they will come up with next.
*Seat covers
The next thing you will probably want to add is seat covers. Being a dog owner and lover they help protect my seats from dirt, daily wear and tear and especially from pet hair. They come in a variety of styles from tough looking to pretty and feminine. They also have orthopedic seat covers for people with back issues and ones that warm your seats in those cold winter months. Some also come with matching seat belt covers to complete your personalized look.
*Steering wheel covers
I remember growing up all the steering wheels were hard, cold and made of plastic. They had only vinyl or leather covers to choose from. Now you can find most with padding on them. You can add ones that heat up and match your seat covers. Whatever it takes to make your vehicle yours.
*Floor mats
Floor mats used to float around under your feet made of plastic or rubber, making it harder to drive not to mention dangerous. Now they are custom made to fit your vehicle and can hook onto your floorboards for maximum safety. They also make them to catch water and dirt to help in keeping your vehicle looking new. They come plain looking or you can customize them with different designs and or characters.
*Foot paddle pads
For the real creative person you can go the extra mile and buy replacement foot pads for your brake, clutch and throttle. You will just have to pick out the ones that suit you best.
*Eye glass holders
Remember when you had your eyeglasses or sunglasses just floating around in your vehicle with no specific place for them to go. This resulted in a lot of broken or lost pairs of glasses. Now you can buy eye glass holders in all styles and colors adding just one more touch of you to your vehicle. This helps the functionality and organization to your vehicle.
*Cell phone holders
With all of the hands free laws in place for cell phone use in cars, there is always a need for a holder that allows you access to your phone while keeping your hands on the wheel. They come in all different designs, like ones with suction cups, ones that clip into your heat vents and some consoles even come equipped with them. You just need to find the one that suits you best.
*Console Spacers
And for the final piece of vehicle personalization we have the console spacers. This is something new for people that like organization in their vehicle. People that spend more time in their vehicle than not especially like it when they have more specific places to put all their favorite and necessary items.
Til we meet again in my next blog…..
